Kneeling Girl
Why does she kneel,
this woman, this girl?
Seeking acknowledgement?
Wanting approval?
Hiding her face,
Bowing awkwardly,
Humble and open.
She is beautiful,
But this she hides from
and does not reconize.
Broken by cruelty,
and wanton greed.
So she seeks,
wanting more than what is.
Hoping to hear,
to feel what we all want.
For the voice is there,
For those willing to hear,
To be humble,
To kneel
Oh….I was so curious about your blog name. I think of learning to kneel as submission, but then this poem. It is very tao, allowing yourself submission as a position of power by being open to all of the world. Interesting. I’m really curious now to learn more about you.
@Steve all of the above, I think.
Kelly, I am equally interested in learning about you. I really enjoy your blog – really thoughtful, intelligent posts about life, mothering, a general yearning…look forward to more back and forth.
One of those weird times when a picture moved me to write as this is not you unless you are hiding a dark passage of your life that we don’t know about.
i am not the picture. but yet i am. ooooooooo.
