Our cat, Frannie is constantly trying to prove herself these days. Elsie does a roll, so does Frannie. Elsie reveals her belly, so does Frannie. It’s a battle really, a battle Elsie regularly wins. She, of course, has the human advantage with the facial communication and the giggles…particularly endearing for her human admirers.

On the other hand, Frannie can lick her back.

I can lick my back but I normally don’t let people know that little knack of mine. It throws them right off when I start preening in a meeting at work.

The Toronto Star photographer caught a look at my laptop when he was in our office taking pics the other day – he said, “who took that picture?” – the black white one of Elsie in the tub, super close up on her eyes…you take a mean picture.

Elsie is easily and naturally doing a yoga twist that brings on the fossilized miracle of laying down the years. She is so…”ho hum, I can lick my back too if I wanna-but I don’t wanna” Get her into yoga at the age of now, she will thank you for it when she is big with Cirque do Soleil!
