1. I miss the event of the ants. The hornet in the bathroom is annoying, but not a story.
2. I am struck by the institution of The Crossing Guard. People helping other people cross the street. This still exists?
3. My cat snores louder than my baby.
4. New favorite drink: lemon, hot water, honey. That or coffee you can stand on.
5. Bach’s Largo from Piano Concerto in F Major used to be a song that would move me to profundity. But now that we’ve made it Elsie’s bedtime ritual song, I find it more…um…nauseating.
6. “You should be a vet,” I say to Simon, as he adeptly maneuvers a pill down Frannie’s throat.
“Then I’d have to take care of dogs and bunnies.”
“True. Dogs and bunnies are definitely a bitch.”
7. I confess to spending thirteen dollars on organic California Satsuma Mandarins.
I was trying to support local…wait…fine! I blame my impulsive shopping on the bibs. The four bibs Elsie chunked up on before we left the house. Not to mention my silk cardigan. Not to mention my freshly laundered jeans. Not to mention the carpet in four places. I was weak and they reminded me of sun.

i had to look up profundity:
a. its not in my MAC dictionary. what gives?
b. i figured it has to do with “profound”
c. merriam webster online confirmed this for me
d. my dog has done nothing but sleep for the past three days. is this normal?
