Elsie has a new friend. Her name is Sophie le Giraffe. And she happens to be the number one selling toy in France. We’re all feeling very chic and bilingual. Not to mention, Sophie is extremely suckable. Sophie, you can stay for dinner any time. We have fish pie on Tuesdays. If you’re still in Elsie’s good books on Friday, we can gorge on wine and baguette.
p.s. Simon is taking this opportunity to teach me about Lamarckian evolution. Something to do with giraffes and longer necks…and foliage too. Always the foliage.

I’d rather kiss Elsie’s cheek than suck on the giraffe’s, thank you very much!!
Plastic giraffes eh? That is what the French are finding chic? My oh my, I think they have lost something. Take that German pacifier, so unitarian but so practical at the same time. What is the fascination with a *painted* *plastic* toy? I think she would have taken anything in her mouth, she almost had a sip of my coffee and would have been quite happy for that.
*shrugs* But if she likes it who am I to say that this is wrong?
We love Sophie around here too! Abby chews on it, her big bro and sis like to stomp on poor Sophie to make her squeak.
Gotta love the natural rubber and non-toxic goodness!
